Occupational Health and Safety Policy
In accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Management Regulations, business entities with a workforce exceeding 100 employees are required to establish a dedicated occupational health and safety (OHS) management unit and an OHS committee. At present, except for the Thailand plant, UNIC’s other sites do not exceed this threshold and, after considering actual operational needs, have appointed designated OHS personnel to handle related matters.
The Thailand plant, as an active manufacturing facility, has established a local Environment and Safety Committee in response to local government regulations and site management requirements to oversee environmental, occupational safety, and health matters. OHS operations at each site are primarily conducted in accordance with applicable occupational safety regulations and requirements in the respective locations.
In 2024, UNIC’s occupational health and safety management system applied to all employees across operating sites, totaling 295 individuals (87%), as well as contractors and non-employee workers, totaling 44 individuals (13%), with no workers excluded.
At the Taipei plant, business operations and site activities are relatively straightforward. Apart from periodic maintenance services, there are no ongoing contracted services. Nevertheless, all external procurement and cooperation prioritize reputable partners, and where contracted services are involved, service quality and compliance with occupational/environmental health and safety requirements are included as evaluation criteria.
Operation of the Thailand Plant Environment and Safety Committee
The Thailand plant’s Environment and Safety Committee consists of first- and second-level managers from various departments, public safety officers, environmental safety officers, and employee representatives, totaling nine members, including four frontline employees. The Committee convenes monthly, with decisions adopted by majority vote. Its responsibilities and discussion topics include:
In accordance with local regulatory requirements, the Company’s Thailand plant is required to prepare an annual environmental impact report covering manufacturing processes and the environmental quality of surrounding areas. In 2024, the Environment and Safety Committee engaged external consultants to conduct environmental quality inspections and plans to formulate measures to enhance and maintain environmental quality based on the assessment results.
The inspection outcomes will be compiled into an Environmental Quality Assessment Report, which will serve as a guiding reference for the Company in managing potential impacts on employee health and safety, occupational health, and the surrounding working environment.
Annual Environmental Assessment Report
In accordance with local regulations in Thailand, the Company implements and reports to the relevant authorities on the execution and outcomes of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters. These include workplace accident incidents, occupational health and safety training for new hires, follow-up on employee health examinations, implementation of hazard risk identification procedures, and records of Environment and Safety Committee meetings.
In compliance with local government regulations, the Vietnam plant also prepares annual water resource assessment reports and environmental assessment reports, identifying and evaluating the environmental impacts of local plant operations.

Occupational Health and Safety Training
To foster a safe and healthy workplace, UNIC conducts regular occupational health and safety (OHS) training programs at all operating sites each year. In total, 239 training attendances were recorded, with 956 cumulative training hours, achieving an overall completion rate of 81%.

2024 Occupational Injury and Occupational Disease Statistics
The Company’s business activities and operational sites are relatively straightforward, and no serious occupational accidents have occurred. Should any occupational injury occur in the future, UNIC has established emergency response procedures that will be implemented accordingly.
Based on 2024 statistics, no occupational injuries were recorded among UNIC employees or non-employee workers.
In terms of occupational disease prevention, UNIC’s OHS personnel, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, distributed “Abnormal Workload Assessment Questionnaires” to all employees to assess potential risks. In coordination with the Human Resources Department, employees engaged in shift work, night work, or long working hours were identified and recorded as part of the assessment process.
Based on the evaluation results, employees identified as high-risk were provided with physician consultations, follow-up monitoring, and health guidance to prevent cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases caused by overwork, as well as to prevent mental health disorders. Where necessary, measures such as adjusting or reducing working hours or modifying job duties are implemented in reference to physicians’ recommendations. In addition, high-risk employees are arranged to undergo health examinations and follow-up as required.
In 2024, no occupational diseases were reported among UNIC employees or non-employee workers.

Occupational Safety Concerns and Grievance Mechanism
When incidents involving unlawful infringement directly related to job duties occur, appropriate protection, accommodation, and assistance shall be provided based on the severity of the employee’s injury. Physical and mental health support shall also be offered to affected individuals.
The grievance or reporting process must ensure objectivity, fairness, and impartiality, with complete confidentiality of the rights and privacy of victims and complainants/reporters. UNIC ensures that complainants or reporters are protected from retaliation. Relevant job duties, work environments, and operational processes will be investigated and reviewed to identify areas for improvement.
No employee grievances were reported in 2024.
Emergency Response Procedures
The Company has established an Emergency Response Management Procedure, which primarily addresses response measures for incidents such as fires, natural disasters (including earthquakes, typhoons, floods), and emergency power outages. Situations not covered above are handled in accordance with emergency response procedures implemented by the respective departments.
The emergency response framework includes organizational structure, response procedures, notification protocols, post-incident handling, and regular training. To date, the Company has experienced no occupational safety incidents. Going forward, occupational safety incident handling will be formally integrated into this unified emergency response framework for management and control.

Employee Health Examinations and Health Promotion
In accordance with labor regulations, the Company conducts annual health examinations for all on-duty employees at the Taipei plant. The scope and frequency of examinations comply with statutory requirements. To promote employee health, the Company analyzes abnormal finding rates and lifestyle-related data from health examination records to develop health promotion programs. These initiatives are communicated to all employees to encourage attention to physical and mental well-being and to increase participation in health promotion activities.
For employees with abnormal examination results, the Company provides reminders or arranges follow-up examinations and offers health guidance and management in accordance with physicians’ recommendations.
Health examination items are tailored to employee characteristics. In 2024, examination items included: height, weight, waist circumference, vision, color vision, hearing, blood pressure, physical examinations of body systems and regions, chest X-ray, urine protein and occult blood tests, hemoglobin and white blood cell count, blood glucose, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), creatinine, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. In terms of daily physical and mental well-being, the Company provides complimentary lunches for all employees. At least two days per week, delivered lunches consist of low-oil and low-salt healthy meal options to support employee health. Beverage facilities, including tea and coffee machines, are available on each floor of the office premises.
The Employee Welfare Committee also offers subsidies for the establishment of employee clubs, encouraging participation in group activities to strengthen interpersonal relationships, relieve stress, and promote overall employee well-being.
